The United States Announced Reinstatement Of 352 Tariff Exemptions On Chinese Imports, Including Steel Products.

On March 23, local time in the United States, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) issued a statement announced the re-exemption of tariffs on 352 items imported from China, which will apply to goods imported from China between October 12, 2021 and December 31, 2022.

In October last year, the USTR announced that it planned to re-exempt tariffs on 549 Chinese imports and was seeking public comment.

After nearly half a year, the Office of the US Trade Representative issued a statement on the 23rd, confirming the confirmation of 352 of the 549 items of Chinese imports previously planned to be exempted from tariffs. The office said that the U.S. decision that day was the result of a comprehensive public consultation and consultation with relevant U.S. agencies.

The list of goods released by the USTR includes industrial components such as pumps and electric motors, certain auto parts and chemicals, backpacks, bicycles, vacuum cleaners and other consumer products.

89. Carbon alloy steel bolted ends used in basin or horizontal grinding machines;

91. Stamping and forming steel bracket;

94. Steel hydraulic valve lifters with rollers, used alone or mainly in spark ignition internal combustion piston engines;

95. Steel solid valve lifters, used alone or mainly in spark ignition internal combustion piston engines;

96. Wind turbine hub;

98. Vacuum pumps, each consisting of a cast aluminum valve body and a non-alloy steel cover;

104. Compact portable stainless steel transport scale;

105. Screw jacks and scissor jacks;

146. Plastic and steel electrical insulators;
